Bike stands are great when you need to do some maintenance work on your bicycle. If you can’t afford to buy one though and happen to have a spare microphone stand lying around then give this a go.

  1. Using an old belt, rope or fabric tie it in a loop around the top tube of the bike.

  1. Set your mic stand to the required height.

  1. Lift the loop up so it rests on the top of the stand. If it’s not high enough then simply take it off and raise the mic stand up a bit more before lifting the loop back onto the stand again. You could also tie the end of the belt around the top of the stand to keep it extra secure.

As you can see in the next photo it allows you to raise the back wheel up by a considerable height and  you can also turn the pedals as they have room to travel to the side of the stand.
